Charleston Single House
Charleston Single House
The circa 1829 house is located in historic downtown Charleston. The three-story masonry house is a large example of the Charleston single house, marked by its side front door, one room wide interior, and piazzas running perpendicular to the street. The building has been kept intact since its construction with the exception of the kitchen annex, which was connected to the main house in 1880. The main house maintains its historic integrity with original architectural details and heart pine floors. The owner handed over full creative license for the decoration including a panoramic de Gournay wall covering in the dining room and custom printed Robert Kime bedroom curtains. Period appropriate Regency antiques are balanced by contemporary Otto Neumann artwork and custom Billy Baldwin upholstery throughout to suit the young family.
